 Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of this Act is to promote culture of science and technology, cultivate youth’s spirit of inquiry toward science and contribute to the enhancement of public understanding of science and technology, by providing for basic matters regarding the establishment, operation, support and facilitation of science museums.

 Article 2 (Definitions)
The terms used in this Act shall be defined as follows:
1. The term "science museum" means a facility which meets the requirements for registration in terms of scientific and technological materials, professional staff, etc. under Article 6 (1), in which scientific and technological materials are collected, investigated, studied, kept and displayed and various kinds of scientific and technological education programs are provided to disseminate scientific and technological knowledge;
2. The term "scientific and technological materials" means materials concerning basic science, applied science, industrial technology, history of science and technology and natural history and other materials determined by Presidential Decree, which have a historical and educational value in terms of science and technology;
3. The term "scientific and technological education program" means various kinds of competitions, experiments, practices, lectures, lecture meetings, film screening, programs for experience, investigation and research, etc. for the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge.

 Article 3 (Classification of Science Museums)
Science museums shall be classified into the following categories based on the entity by which it is established and operated:
1. National science museum: A science museum established and operated by the State or a science museum established by the State in the form of a corporation;
2. Public science museum: A science museum established and operated by a local government or a science museum established by a local government in the form of a corporation;
3. Private science museum: A science museum established and operated by a corporation, organization or individual, other than those referred to in subparagraphs 1 and 2.

 Article 4 (Scope of Application)
The provisions of this Act, except for Articles 17 (2) and (3), 20 and 21, shall not apply to the science museums established and operated by the schools of each level under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and Higher Education Act.

 Article 4-2 (Formulation of Master Plans to Support Science Museums)
(1) The government shall formulate a master plan to support science museums (hereinafter referred to as "master plan") every five years, as necessary to promote the establishment and operation of science museums. <Amended by Act No. 13338, Jun. 22, 2015; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(2) The master plan shall include the following matters: <Amended by Act No. 11620, Jan. 23, 2013; Act No. 13338, Jun. 22, 2015>
1. Matters concerning the objectives and basic directions of policies for the facilitation of establishment and operation of science museums;
2. Matters concerning measures for supporting science museums by field and short-, mid- and long-term action plans;
3. Matters concerning investment plans and procurement of financial resources;
4. Matters concerning the current state and prospects of domestic and overseas science museums;
5. Matters concerning training of human resources specialized in operation of science museums;
6. Other matters necessary for facilitation of science museums.
(3) Matters necessary for the procedure, etc. for the formulation of the master plan shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree. <Amended by Act No. 13338, Jun. 22, 2015>

 Article 4-3 (Formulation and Execution of Implementation Plans to Support Science Museums)
(1) The Minister of Science and ICT, the head of a relevant central administrative agency, and the head of each local government shall formulate an implementation plan to support science museums (hereinafter referred to as "implementation plan") respectively for the area falling under their jurisdiction each year in accordance with the master plan. <Amended by Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(2) The head of each relevant central administrative agency and the head of a local government shall submit a report on the results of execution of the implementation plan for the previous year and an implementation plan for the next year to the Minister of Science and ICT, and the Minister of Science and ICT shall evaluate the results of execution of the implementation plan every year. <Amended by Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(3) Matters necessary for the formulation and execution of implementation plans, the evaluation of the results of execution of such plans, etc. shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.

 Article 4-4 (Fact-Finding Survey on Current State of Management of Science Museums)
(1) In order to efficiently formulate and promote master plans and implementation plans, the Minister of Science and ICT shall conduct a fact-finding survey on the current state of management of science museums and shall reflect the results thereof in master plans and implementation plans. <Amended by Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(2) The Minister of Science and ICT may request the head of a relevant central administrative agency, the head of a local government, or a related corporation or organization to provide data or present opinions, as necessary for the fact-finding surveys referred to in paragraph (1). <Amended by Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(3) Any person who receives a request to provide data or present opinions under paragraph (2) shall comply with such request unless there is a compelling reason not to do so.
(4) Matters necessary for the scope, method, etc. of the fact-finding surveys on the current state referred to in paragraph (1) shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.

 Article 5 (Business)
Every science museum shall carry out the following business:
1. Excavation, collection, preservation, management and display of scientific and technological materials;
2. Professional and academic investigations and research on scientific and technological materials;
3. Opening and operation of scientific and technological education programs;
4. Production and distribution of various kinds of publications on scientific and technological materials;
5. Cooperation with other science museums in Korea and abroad for the exchange of scientific and technological materials, publications or information, joint research, etc.;
6. Other business determined by Presidential Decree, which is necessary to achieve the objectives of the establishment of science museums.

 Article 5-2 (Implementation of Research and Development Projects)
(1) In order to develop creative contents for exhibition in science museums, the Minister of Science and ICT may implement research and development projects. <Amended by Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(2) Expenses necessary for implementing the research and development projects under paragraph (1) shall be covered with contributions from the Government or any person other than the Government.
(3) Other matters necessary for implementing research and development projects shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.

 Article 6 (Registration)
(1) A person who establishes and operates a science museum may file a registration of the science museum with the Minister of Science and ICT, if the science museum is a national science museum, or with the Mayor of the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City, or a Special Self-Governing City or the Governor of a Do or Special Self-Governing Province having jurisdiction over the seat of the science museum (hereinafter referred to as the "Mayer/Do Governor"), if the science museum is a public or private science museum, after the requirements for the registration of science museums concerning facilities, scientific and technological materials, and professional staff members are fully satisfied, as prescribed by Presidential Decree: Provided, That in cases of a private science museum established with the approval for an establishment plan by the Mayor/Do Governor in accordance with Article 7 (1), the registration shall be filed without delay after the completion of construction. <Amended by Act No. 13338, Jun. 22, 2015; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(2) The matters to be registered under paragraph (1) shall be as follows: <Amended by Act No. 11620, Jan. 23, 2013>
1. Objectives;
2. Name;
3. Location;
4. Names and addresses of the founder and the representative (in cases of a corporation or organization, the name of the corporation or organization, location of the main office, and name and address of the representative);
5. Statement of facilities;
6. List of scientific and technological materials;
7. Other matters prescribed by Presidential Decree.
(3) When a registration has been filed under paragraph (1), the Minister of Science and ICT or the Mayer/Do Governor shall issue a science museum registration certificate (hereinafter referred to as "registration certificate") to the applicant without delay. <Amended by Act No. 13338, Jun. 22, 2015; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(4) Where a science museum to which a registration certificate is issued under paragraph (3) (hereinafter referred to as "registered science museum") intends to change any registered matter specified in the subparagraphs of paragraph (2), it shall file for registration of the change in accordance with Ordinance of the Ministry of Science and ICT. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(5) The head of a national science museum registered under paragraph (1) and the Mayor/Do Governor shall submit a report on the current state of management of science museums (excluding national science museums), including registration and revocation of registration, and a report on the management of admission fees, charges, etc. each year to the Minister of Science and ICT, as prescribed by Presidential Decree. <Newly Inserted by Act No. 13338, Jun. 22, 2015; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>

 Article 6-2 (Establishment of National Science Museum Corporations)
(1) The State shall establish the following national science museums to lay a foundation for the expansion of a scientific culture in the relevant regions and to promote science education outside school: <Amended by Act No. 13207, Mar. 11, 2015>
1. Daegu National Science Museum;
2. Gwangju National Science Museum;
3. Busan National Science Museum.
(2) The national science museums under paragraph (1) shall be corporations (hereinafter referred to as “national science museum corporations”).
(3) A national science museum corporation shall be established upon registration of its establishment with the registry having jurisdiction over its principal office, and matters necessary for the registration of establishment shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.
(4) The articles of incorporation of a national science museum corporation shall include the following matters:
1. Objectives;
2. Name;
3. Location of the principal office;
4. Matters concerning business affairs and performance thereof;
5. Matters concerning assets and accounting;
6. Matters concerning executive officers and employees;
7. Matters concerning the board of directors;
8. Matters concerning amendment of articles of incorporation;
9. Matters concerning dissolution or merger;
10. Other important matters concerning management of the corporation.
(5) Where the head of a central administrative agency intends to establish a national science museum in connection with the business affairs under his/her control, he/she shall have consultation with the Minister of Science and ICT in accordance with Presidential Decree. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>

 Article 6-3 (Independence and Autonomy, etc. of National Science Museum Corporations)
(1) Independence and autonomy in management shall be guaranteed to a national science museum corporation.
(2) A national science museum corporation shall perform the following business affairs in addition to the business activities under Article 5: <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
1. Development, operation and diffusion of techniques and items for exhibition of science and technology in the relevant region;
2. Development, operation and diffusion of programs to popularize science education and scientific culture in the relevant region;
3. Projects for exchange, cooperation and support with domestic and overseas national science museums, public and private science museums, educational institutions, research institutes, museums, art galleries and enterprises, etc.;
4. Other projects designated or entrusted by the Minister of Science and ICT.

 Article 6-4 (Executive Officers and Employees of National Science Museum Corporations)
(1) A national science museum corporation shall have not more than ten directors and one auditor as its executive officers. Matters regarding the qualifications, term of office and appointment of executive officers and other matters necessary for the management of the corporation shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.
(2) The head of a national science museum corporation shall be full-time and shall concurrently hold the office of chairperson, and the other directors and the auditor shall be part-time.
(3) The head of a national science museum corporation shall be appointed or dismissed by the Minister of Science and ICT in accordance with the articles of incorporation, and the appointment or dismissal of directors, the auditor and employees shall be as prescribed by the articles of incorporation. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(4) Executive officers and employees of a national science museum corporation shall be deemed public officials for the purpose of applying the provisions of Articles 129 through 132 of the Criminal Act.

 Article 6-5 (Financial Resources of National Science Museum Corporations)
(1) A national science museum corporation shall be operated with the following financial resources:
1. Contributions or subsidies from the State or a local government under paragraph (2);
2. Donations under Article 19-2;
3. Other revenues or incomes.
(2) The State or a local government may contribute to or subsidize expenses necessary for the operation of national science museum corporations.

 Article 6-6 (Use of or Profit from State-Owned or Public Property)
(1) Notwithstanding the State Property Act or the Public Property and Commodity Management Act, where necessary for the establishment of a national or public science museum corporation, the State or a local government may permit a national or public science museum corporation to use or profit from state-owned or public property: Provided, That state-owned cultural heritage under Article 62 of the Cultural Heritage Protection Act shall be excluded.
(2) The period during which the use of or profit from state-owned or public property may be permitted under paragraph (1) shall be as prescribed by Article 35 (1) of the State Property Act or Article 21 (1) of the Public Property and Commodity Management Act.
(3) Matters necessary for the terms and conditions of, and the procedures for, the permission for the use or profit under paragraph (1) shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.

 Article 6-7 (Inspection, etc.)
(1) The Minister of Science and ICT or the Mayor/Do Governor may authorize relevant public officials to conduct an inspection on business operations, accounts, and the current state of assets of a science museum under his/her jurisdiction or to order a science museum under his/her jurisdiction to submit materials necessary for such inspection. In such cases, the current state of preservation and management of scientific and technological materials shall be inspected on a regular basis, as prescribed by Presidential Decree. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 13338, Jun. 22, 2015; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(2) If any illegality or wrongdoing is discovered as a result of an inspection conducted under paragraph (1), the Minister of Science and ICT or the Mayor/Do Governor may order the relevant national science museum under his/her jurisdiction to correct the illegality or wrongdoing or may take other necessary measures. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 13338, Jun. 22, 2015; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>

 Article 6-8 (Provisions Applicable Mutatis Mutandis)
(1) Except as provided in this Act, the Act on the Management of Public Institutions and the Act on the Establishment and Operation of Public Interest Corporations, the provisions of the Civil Act governing incorporated foundations shall apply mutatis mutandis to national science museum corporations.
(2) Except as provided in this Act, the provisions of the Civil Act governing incorporated foundations shall apply mutatis mutandis to public science museums established by a local government as a corporation and private science museums established by a corporation, organization or individual as a corporation.

 Article 6-9 (Standards for Preservation and Management of Scientific and Technological Materials)
In order to enhance the historical and educational value of scientific and technological materials, a national or public science museum shall comly with the standards for the preservation and management of scientific and technological materials prescribed by Presidential Decree.

 Article 7 (Approval for Private Science Museum Establishment Plans)
(1) When a person who intends to establish a private science museum prepares an establishment plan thereof and applies for approval for it, a Mayor/Do Governor may approve it as prescribed by Presidential Decree. The same shall apply to cases where approved establishment plans are intended to be changed: Provided, That the same shall not apply to minor changes determined by Presidential Decree.
(2) Where a Mayor/Do Governor intends to grant approval for an establishment plan or grant approval for changes pursuant to paragraph (1), he/she shall consult it with the head of the competent central administrative agency which has jurisdiction over the matters in each subparagraph of Article 8 in advance, as prescribed by Presidential Decree: Provided, That the same shall not apply to minor changes determined by Presidential Decree.
(3) When a person who has obtained approval for an establishment plan under paragraph (1) produces extremely poor business results, a Mayor/Do Governor may cancel the approval.
(4) When a Mayor/Do Governor approves an establishment plan or approves the change thereof or cancels approval pursuant to paragraphs (1) and (3), he/she shall notify the heads of the organs that he/she has consulted with pursuant to paragraph (2) and interested persons of such fact without delay.

 Article 8 (Relations with other Acts)
When a person obtains approval for a plan for the establishment of a private science museum under Article 7 (1), he/she shall be deemed to have obtained the permission or authorization referred to in the following subparagraphs: <Amended by Act No. 12248, Jan. 14, 2014>
1. Permission for development activities under Article 56 of the National Land Planning and Utilization Act, designation of operators of urban planning facility projects under Article 86 of the same Act, and authorization of action plans under Article 88 of the same Act (limited to cases where a project related to an establishment plan is implemented as an urban planning facility project);
2. Permission to a person other than a road management authority for the execution of road works under Article 36 of the Road Act, and for the occupancy and use of a road under Article 61 of the same Act;
3. Authorization for the installation of exclusive-use waterworks under Article 52 of the Water Supply and Waterworks Installation Act;
4. Permission for the construction or maintenance of public sewerage systems under Article 16 of the Sewerage Act;
5. Permission for the conversion of farmland under Article 34 of the Farmland Act;
6. Permission for the conversion of mountainous districts and reporting on conversion of mountainous districts under Articles 14 and 15 of the Mountainous Districts Management Act and permission for and reporting on the temporary use of mountainous districts under Article 15-2 of the same Act.

 Article 10 (Admission Fees and Charges)
(1) Every science museum may receive admission fees and other charges for the use of scientific and technological materials or facilities (hereinafter referred to as "admission fees, etc.").
(2) The standard for the rates of admission fees, etc. of national science museums and public science museums shall be prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Science and ICT, and admission fees, etc. of public science museums shall be prescribed by ordinance of the local government concerned within the range of the standard prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Science and ICT. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>

 Article 12 (Cancellation of Registration)
Every Mayor/Do Governor may, when a registered science museum falls under any of the following subparagraphs, cancel the registration thereof: Provided, That the same shall not apply to cases where it falls under subparagraph 2 due to natural disasters and other unavoidable causes:
1. Where it is registered by fraud or other wrongful means;
2. Where it is deemed unable to conduct the businesses referred to in Article 5 by failing to maintain the requirements for registration referred to in Article 6 (1);
3. Where it fails to make the registration for changes referred to in Article 6 (4);
4. Where it violates Article 18 (2);

 Article 13 (Hearing)
Every Mayor/Do Governor shall, when he/she intends to impose any of the following dispositions, hold a hearing:
1. Cancellation of approval for establishment plans referred to in Article 7 (3);
2. Cancellation of registration referred to in Article 12.

 Article 14 (Notification of Shutdown of Science Museums)
(1) Where a registered science museum closes down, it shall notify the competent Mayor/Do Governor in accordance with Ordinance of the Ministry of Science and ICT. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(2) The Mayor/Do Governor shall, upon receipt of the notice under paragraph (1), eliminate the registration of the relevant science museum.

 Article 15 (Dispatch of Experts, etc, to Science Museums)
(1) Any person who establishes or operates a science museum may request the State or a local government, educational institution or research organization, via the Minister of Science and ICT, to dispatch personnel specialized in science museums, where it is particularly needed for achievement of its objectives. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(2) Upon receipt of a request for dispatch under paragraph (1), the State, a local government or the head of an educational institution or research organization may dispatch its personnel after consultation with the head of the science museum requesting the dispatch of personnel.
(3) The person dispatched to a science museum under paragraph (2) shall be deemed as working, during the period of dispatch, for the institution to which he/she primarily belongs, and shall not be subject to any unfavorable treatment in terms of status on the ground of such dispatch.

 Article 16 (Instructions or Advice, etc.)
Upon receipt of a request from a science museum, the Minister of Science and ICT may provide professional or technical instructions or advice to the science museum with regard to the establishment and operation of the science museum. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>

 Article 17 (Subsidies)
(1) The State or local governments may, within budgetary limits, provide subsidies to those whose science museum establishment plan is approved pursuant to Article 7 to cover part of expenses for the establishment of the science museums and to registered science museums to cover part of expenses for the operation of the registered science museums, respectively.
(2) With respect to the transportation of scientific and technological materials by government transportation organs, the government may discount, or reduce or exempt transportation charges and other charges.
(3) Every transportation organ shall, when transporting scientific and technological materials, devise the best safety measures necessary for the transportation.

 Article 18 (Profit-Making Business)
(1) A registered science museum and a national science museum corporation may engage in profit-making business, such as production and sale of printed materials, audiovisual materials and souvenirs, etc. relating to the services of the science museum, and operation of convenience facilities, in order to procure financial resources necessary for the maintenance and operation of the science museum. <Amended by Act No. 11620, Jan. 23, 2013>
(2) No profits earned through profit-making business shall be used for any purpose other than the intended business of each science museum.
(3) The scope of profit-making business and other matters necessary for the operation thereof, etc. shall be prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Science and ICT. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>

 Article 19 (Supporters' Association)
(1) A registered science museum or a national science museum corporation may have a supporters' association comprised of members who provide support necessary for the smooth operation thereof. <Amended by Act No. 11620, Jan. 23, 2013>
(2) Every supporters' association may accept donations from its members or collect items necessary for the relevant science museum.
(3) The supporters' association shall deliver the donations or items received or collected under paragraph (2) to the relevant science museum, in accordance with the Minister of Science and ICT. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
(4) Matters necessary for the organization and operation, etc. of supporters' associations shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.

 Article 19-2 (Acceptance of Donations)
(1) Notwithstanding the body of Article 5 (2) of the Act on Collection and Use of Donations, a science museum may accept money and goods voluntarily donated, to the extent that such donations are appropriate for its business objectives.
(2) Matters necessary for the procedures for the acceptance of donations under paragraph (1) shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.
(3) A science museum shall manage donations accepted pursuant to paragraph (1) in a separate account.

 Article 20 (Exchange, Transfer of Scientific and Technological Materials)
(1) Science museums may mutually exchange, transfer or lend scientific and technological materials or entrust the keeping of scientific and technological materials.
(2) The State or local governments may transfer or lend materials usable as scientific and technological materials or entrust the keeping of such material to science museums free of charge.

 Article 21 (Building of Cooperative Science Museum Network)
(1) The Government may build a cooperative science museum network to carry out the following functions for the efficient distribution, management, use, etc. of scientific and technological materials and promotion of mutual cooperation among various kinds of science museums:
1. Distribution of information and materials through computerized information systems;
2. Organization and data processing of scientific and technological materials and standardization of the facilities related thereto;
3. Efficient operation of science museums, such as union list and interloan;
4. Other matters concerning mutual cooperation between science museums.
(2) Matters necessary for the organization, operation, etc. of the cooperative science museum network shall be determined by Presidential Decree.

 Article 22 (Science Museum Association)
(1) A person who establishes and operates a science museum may establish a science museum association (hereinafter referred to as the "Association") for the following business activities: <Amended by Act No. 11620, Jan. 23, 2013; Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>
1. Research for the promotion of science museums;
2. Collection and management of related information, such as the current status of operation of science museums;
3. Cooperation and support with domestic and overseas science museums;
4. Other business activities that the Minister of Science and ICT deems necessary for the development of science museums.
(2) The Association shall be a corporation.
(3) Except as provided in this Act, the provisions of the Civil Act governing incorporated associations shall apply mutatis mutandis to the Association.

 Article 23 (Enactment of Municipal Ordinances)
The Special Metropolitan City or a Metropolitan City, Special Self-Governing City, Do or Special Self-Governing Province may prescribe matters necessary for the establishment and operation of science museums by municipal ordinance. <Amended by Act No. 11620, Jan. 23, 2013>

Where a Mayor/Do Governor grants registration pursuant to Article 6, cancels registration pursuant to Article 12 or eliminates registration pursuant to Article 14, he/she shall notify the Minister of Science and ICT of such fact within 30 days from the date on which he/she grants, cancels or eliminates registration. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013; Act No. 14839, Jul. 26, 2017>

Article 2 (Transitional Measures concerning Registration of Science Museums)
(1) Any science museum that is registered with the Minister of Science and Technology pursuant to previous provisions at the time this Act enters into force shall be considered to have been registered with the relevant Mayor/Do Governor in accordance with this Act.
(2) Any application for the registration of a science museum that is made to the Minister of Science and Technology pursuant to previous provisions at the time this Act enters into force shall be considered to have been made to the relevant Mayor/Do Governor in accordance with this Act.
Article 3 (Transitional Measures concerning Approval of Science Museum Establishment Plan)
(1) Any science museum establishment plan obtained the approval from the Minister of Science and Technology under the previous provisions at the time this Act enters into force shall be considered to have been obtained from the relevant Mayor/Do Governor in accordance with this Act.
(2) Any application for the approval of science museum establishment plan that is made to the Minister of Science and Technology pursuant to previous provisions at the time this Act enters into force shall be considered to have been made to the relevant Mayor/Do Governor in accordance with this Act.

Article 1 (Enforcement Date)
This Act shall enter into force three months after the date of its promulgation.
Article 2 (Preparation for Incorporation of National Science Museum Corporations)
(1) For performance of administrative affairs concerning incorporation of national science museum corporations, the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning shall organize a committee for the incorporation of national science museum corporations (hereinafter referred to as the “Incorporation Committee”) within three months from the promulgation date of this Act. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013>
(2) The Incorporation Committee shall be comprised of not more than ten incorporation members commissioned by the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning, and one of the incorporation members shall be appointed as the chairperson of the Incorporation Committee by the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013>
(3) The first executive officers of a national science museum corporation shall be appointed by the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning, from among two or more persons recommended by the Incorporation Committee for each post. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013>
(4) The Incorporation Committee shall formulate articles of incorporation of national science museum corporations and obtain authorization therefor from the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013>
(5) After appointment of executive officers, the Incorporation Committee shall file for registration of establishment without delay and shall transfer administrative affairs to the chairperson of each national science museum corporation.
(6) Upon completion of the transfer of administrative affairs under paragraphs (4) and (5), the Incorporation Committee shall be deemed dissolved and the incorporation members discharged.
(7) The Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning, the Daegu Metropolitan City Mayor or the Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor may dispatch its respective public officials to the national science museum corporation located in the area within its jurisdiction for performance of affairs concerning establishment of the national science museum corporation. <Amended by Act No. 11690, Mar. 23, 2013>
Article 3 (Costs and Expenses for Establishment)
The costs and expenses incurred in the establishment of national science museum corporations shall be borne by the State.

Article 2 (Preparation for Incorporation of Busan National Science Museum)
(1) The Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning shall establish a committee for the incorporation of the Busan National Science Museum Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the "Incorporation Committee") within three months from the promulgation date of this Act in order to handle business affairs for the incorporation of the Busan National Science Museum Corporation.
(2) The Incorporation Committee shall be composed of up to ten incorporation members commissioned by the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning, and one of the incorporation members shall be appointed as the chairperson of the Incorporation Committee by the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning.
(3) The first executive officers of the Busan National Science Museum Corporation shall be appointed by the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning, from among a multiple number of candidates recommended by the Incorporation Committee.
(4) The Incorporation Committee shall prepare the articles of incorporation of the Busan National Science Museum Corporation and shall obtain approval therefor from the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning.
(5) When executive officers are appointed, the Incorporation Committee shall file a registration for its incorporation without delay and then hand over the business affairs to the President of the Busan National Science Museum Corporation.
(6) The Incorporation Committee and the incorporation members shall be deemed dissolved or dismissed upon the completion of the hand-over of the business affairs referred to in paragraphs (4) and (5).
(7) The Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the Mayor of the Busan Metropolitan City may each dispatch relevant public officials to the Busan National Science Museum Corporation for the business affairs concerning the incorporation of the Busan National Science Museum Corporation.

Article 1 (Enforcement Date)
This Act shall enter into force on the date of its promulgation: Provided, That the amended provisions of the Acts, which were promulgated before this Act enters into force, but the date on which they are to enter into force, has not arrived yet, among the Acts amended pursuant to Article 5 of the Addenda, shall enter into force on the enforcement dates of such Acts, respectively.
