 Article 1 (Purpose)
This purpose of this Act is to provide for special cases concerning the amounts of various fines, minor fines or fines for negligence according to changes in economic situations.

 Article 3 (Special Cases concerning Amounts of Fines)
When the ceiling of a fine which is calculated in accordance with this Act or other Acts and subordinate statutes, or provided for in other Acts and subordinate statutes is less than 100,000 won, it shall be hereby fixed as 100,000 won.

 Article 4 (Application of Fines, etc.)
(1) Deleted. <by Act No. 5167, Nov. 23, 1996>
(2) In applying the provisions concerning fines or fines for negligence in Acts and subordinate statutes enacted by or on February 14, 1953, the monetary unit "圓" in such provisions shall be deemed won. <Amended by Act No. 10179, Mar. 24, 2010>
(3) In applying the provisions concerning fines or fines for negligence in Acts and subordinate statutes enacted between February 15, 1953 and June 9, 1962, the monetary unit "hwan" in such provisions shall be deemed won. <Amended by Act No. 10179, Mar. 24, 2010>
(4) In applying the provisions concerning fines or fines for negligence in Acts and subordinate statutes enacted between June 10, 1962 and December 31, 1966 , the amount of the said fines or fines for negligence shall be fixed as an amount equivalent to four times the specified amount in the same provisions. <Amended by Act No. 10179, Mar. 24, 2010>
(5) In applying the provisions concerning fines or fines for negligence in Acts and subordinate statutes enacted between January 1, 1967 and December 31, 1973, the amount of the said fines or fines for negligence shall be fixed as an amount equivalent to twice as much as the specified amount in the same provisions. <Amended by Act No. 10179, Mar. 24, 2010>

 Article 5 (Exclusion from Application)
When the amount of any fine, minor fine or fine for negligence is determined by multiplying a fixed amount by a certain multiple, Article 4 shall not apply.

ADDENDUM
Articles 2 and 6 of the U. S. Military Government Ordinance No. 120 shall be hereby repealed.

This Act shall enter into force on the date of its promulgation.

This Act shall enter into force on February 1, 1977.

(1) (Enforcement Date) This Act shall enter into force on the date of its promulgation.
(2) (Transitional Measures concerning Application of Penal Provisions) When applying provisions concerning fines or minor fines to any offense committed prior to June 30, 1996, the former provisions shall prevail, and when applying provisions concerning fines to any offense committed between July 1, 1996 and the date following the date when this Act enters into force, the former provisions of Article 3 (3) shall apply.
(3) (Transitional Measures concerning Single Activity) Where any single activity has commenced before and continues even after this Act enters into force, such activity shall be deemed to have been carried out after this Act enters into force.
