 Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of this Act is to prescribe persons to perform the duties of judicial police officers as prescribed in Article 245-10 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Act and to prescribe the scope of duties thereof. <Amended on Mar. 16, 2021>

 Article 3 (Jail Wardens, etc.)
(1) The heads of correctional institutions, juvenile correctional institutions, detention centers or branches thereof shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers (hereinafter referred to "senior judicial police officers") pursuant to Article 197 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Act in relation to offenses committed in the relevant correctional institutions, juvenile correctional institutions, detention centers or branches thereof. <Amended on Mar. 16, 2021>
(2) The heads of juvenile reformatories or branches thereof, or the heads of juvenile classification review boards or branches thereof shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to offenses committed in the juvenile reformatories or branches thereof, or the Juvenile Classification Review Center or branches thereof.
(3) The heads of protective custody centers, or medical treatment and custody facilities or branches thereof shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to offenses committed in protective custody centers, or medical treatment and custody facilities or branches thereof.
(4) The national public officials of Grades IV through VII engaged in the duties of making a tour of inspection of correctional facilities pursuant to Article 8 of the Administration and Treatment of Correctional Institution Inmates Act shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to offenses committed in the correctional facilities, and the national public officials of Grades 8 and 9 shall perform the duties of deputy judicial police officers (hereinafter referred to "junior judicial police officer") pursuant to Article 197 (2) of the Criminal Procedure Act in relation to such offenses. <Amended on Aug. 11, 2015; Mar. 16, 2021>
(5) The national public officials of Grade IV through VII engaged in the duties of immigration shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to any of the following offenses, and the national public officials of Grade VIII and IX shall perform the duties of junior judicial police officers in relation to such offenses: <Amended on Aug. 11, 2015>
1. An offense concerning documents under PART II Chapter XX of the Criminal Act and offense concerning seals under Chapter XXI of the same PART, which amounts to concurrent crimes with immigration violations;
2. An offense in violation of the Passport Act, which amounts to concurrent crimes with immigration violations;
3. An offense in violation of the Stowaways Control Act, which amounts to concurrent crimes with immigration violations.
(6) The heads of probation offices or branches thereof shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to offenses committed by electronic device wearers as prescribed in Article 38 or 39 of the Act on the Electronic Monitoring of Specific Criminal Offenders. <Newly Inserted on Dec. 8, 2020>

 Article 4 (Public Officials Engaged in Forest Protection)
Persons who are to be in exclusive charge of forest protection at Korea Forest Service or its affiliated agencies (excluding Forest Aviation Headquarters), a Special Metropolitan City, Metropolitan City, Special Self-Governing City, Do, Special Self-Governing Province (hereinafter referred to as “Special Metropolitan City/Metropolitan Cities/Dos”), Si, Gun or Gu (referring to autonomous Gus; hereinafter the same shall apply), who are public officials of Grade VI and VII regarding whom the heads of their agency have made a report to the chief prosecutor of the relevant district prosecutors’ office shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers, and the public officials of Grade VIII and IX shall perform the duties of junior judicial police officers. <Amended on May 4, 2010; Aug. 11, 2015>

 Article 5 (Judicial Police Officers by Designation of Chief Prosecutor)
Among the following persons designated by the chief prosecutor of a district prosecutors' office having jurisdiction over their posts, on the recommendation of the heads of agencies with which such persons are affiliated, national public officials or local public officials of at least Grade VII and fire officers in the rank of fire captain and above shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers; and national public officials or local public officials of Grade VIII or IX and fire officers in the rank of fire lieutenant and below shall perform the duties of junior judicial police officers: <Amended by Jan. 18, 2010; May 4, 2010; Jul. 14, 2011; Jul. 21, 2011; Jan. 17, 2012; Jun. 1, 2012; Jun. 1, 2012; Mar. 23, 2013; Dec. 30, 2014; Aug. 11, 2015; Jan. 6, 2016; May 29, 2016; Dec. 20, 2016; Jul. 26, 2017; Dec. 19, 2017; Dec. 18, 2018; Dec. 10, 2019; Dec. 8, 2020>
1. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who are not the heads of correctional institutions, juvenile correctional institutions, detention centers, or branches thereof;
2. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who work at the local correctional agency;
3. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who are not the heads of juvenile reformatories or branches thereof or the heads of Juvenile Classification Review Center or branches thereof;
4. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who are not the heads of protective custody facilities, medical treatment and custody facilities, or branches thereof;
-4-2. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who are not the heads of probation offices or branches thereof;
5. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Korea Forest Service or any of its affiliated agencies (excluding the Forest Aviation Stations), performing the duty to protect and manage forests and the duty to enforce the law on the specifications and quality of timber products;
6. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Special Metropolitan City or a Metropolitan City or Do, performing the duty to protect forests and manage national forests and the duty to enforce the law on the specifications and quality of timber products;
7. National public officials of Grade VI through IX or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for a Si/Gun/Gu or an Eup/Myeon, performing the duty to protect forests and the duty to enforce the law on the specifications and quality of timber products;
8. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, any of its affiliated agencies, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on food;
9. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, any of its affiliated agencies, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on drugs, cosmetics and medical devices and the duty to enforce the law on tests and inspections conducted under the Act on Testing and Inspection in the Food and Drug Industry;
10. National public officials of Grade VI through IX who work in a lighthouse, performing the duty to manage the lighthouse;
11. National public officials of Grade 4IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport or any of its affiliated agencies, performing the duty of railroad policing;
12. Fire officers in the rank of fire sub-deputy chief and below;
13. National public officials of Grade VI through IX who work for a national school, performing the duty to protect the training forest or conservation forest of the school;
14. National public officials and local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Cultural Heritage Administration, any of its offices, regional management offices or branches, the Hyeonchungsa Shrine Office, the Chilbaeguichong Shrine Office, the King Sejong Shrine Office, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to protect cultural heritage;
15. Measurement inspection officials prescribed under the Measures Act;
16. National public officials and local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for any of the park management agencies referred to in Article 34 of the Natural Parks Act, performing the duty of park management under the same Act;
17. Customs officers who perform the duty to investigate customs duty evaders pursuant to the Customs Act;
18. Fisheries supervision officials under the Fisheries Act;
19. Mining safety officials appointed under the Mining Safety Act;
20. Public officials of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs or any of its affiliated agencies;
21. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Health and Welfare or any of its affiliated agencies, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the following duties:
(a) The duty to enforce the law on public health under the Public Health Control Act;
(b) The duty to enforce the law on medical service under the Medical Service Act;
(c) The duty to enforce the law in regard to admission to and discharge from a mental health improvement facility, violations of human rights in such facility, and the operation of such facility under the Act on the Improvement of Mental Health and the Support for Welfare Services for Mental Patients;
(d) The duty to enforce the law on social service programs, social service facilities, and subsidies under the Social Services Act;
21-2. Public officials in charge of quarantine under the Quarantine Act or epidemic control officers or epidemiological investigation officers under the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act;
22. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Environment or any of its affiliated agencies, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on environment;
23. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Science and ICT, any of its affiliated agencies, or Korea Communications Commission, performing the duty to enforce the law on radio systems, telecommunications systems, broadcasting and communications systems, wiretapping systems, business entities specialized in detecting unregistered, illegal wiretapping systems, equipment and materials for broadcasting and communications under Article 58-2 (1) of the Radio Waves Act, and advertising information for profit-making;

24. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for a regional office of construction management, a branch of a regional office of construction management, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do or any of its affiliated construction offices or road management offices, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on limitations on the operation of vehicles or the duty to manage road facilities;
25. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty of tourism guidance;
26. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law against copyright infringement;
27. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to protect youth;
28. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs or any of its affiliated agencies, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries or any of its affiliated agencies, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety or any of its affiliated agencies, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, a Si/Gun/Gu, performing any of the following duties:
(a) Enforcing the law on the labeling of the country of origin, etc. pursuant to the Act on Origin Labeling of Agricultural and Fishery Products;
(b) Enforcing the law on agricultural and fishery products pursuant to the Agricultural and Fishery Products Quality Control Act;
(d) Enforcing the law on livestock products pursuant to the Livestock Products Sanitary Control Act;
(e) Enforcing the law on ginseng products pursuant to the Ginseng Industry Act;
(f) Enforcing the law on grain pursuant to the Grain Management Act;
29. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on the labeling of the country of origin pursuant to the Foreign Trade Act;
30. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to approve raw materials and machinery for earning foreign currency and the duty to approve a change of the purpose of use of such materials and machinery;
31. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Rural Development Administration, the National Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on pesticides and fertilizers;
32. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to monitor rivers;
33. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on development restriction zones;
34. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency or any of its regional offices, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, a Si/Gun/Gu, as a veterinary inspector or an animal quarantine officer appointed pursuant to the Act on the Prevention of Contagious Animal Diseases or as a plant quarantine officer appointed pursuant to Article 7-2 of the Plant Protection Act;
35. Local public officials of Grade V through IX who work for the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law against unregistered auto maintenance shops, the failure to apply for the registration of a transfer of ownership of a vehicle, illegal abandonment of a vehicle, or the operation of a vehicle not insured with mandatory insurance;

37. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries or any of its affiliated agencies, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on marine environment;
38. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Korea Intellectual Property Office, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law against unfair competition practices and infringement of trademarks and exclusive licenses;
38-2. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Korean Intellectual Property Office and performing the duty to enforce the law against infringement of patent rights or exclusive licenses; unfair competition practices; the acquisition, use, or disclosure of trade secrets; and infringement of design rights or exclusive licenses;
39. Local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to enforce the law on passenger transport services and trucking transport businesses;
40. Local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for any of the park management agencies referred to in Article 20 of the Act on Urban Parks and Green Areas, performing the duty to manage urban parks pursuant to the same Act;
41. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Military Manpower Administration or any of its affiliated agencies, performing the duty to enforce the law against self-mutilation or fraud committed for the purpose of evading military service or being exempted from military service or the duty to conduct draft physical examinations or physical examinations pursuant to the Military Service Act;
42. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Agriculture, the Food and Rural Affairs or any of its affiliated agencies, the Korea Forest Service, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to investigate violations of plant variety rights under the Seed Industry Act and the Act on the Protection of New Varieties of Plants or the duty to investigate the distribution of seeds and other duties;
42-2. Animal guardians under Article 40 (1) of the Animal Protection Act;
43. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety or any of its affiliated agencies, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to conduct emergency safety inspections under Article 30 of the Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety;
44. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to conduct inspections and enforce the law on petroleum and petroleum substitute fuels;
45. Local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to conduct inspections and enforce the law on credit business and credit brokerage business;
46. Local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to conduct investigations and enforce the law on door-to-door sales, telemarketing, multi-level marketing, door-to-door sales under sponsorship, recurring transactions and transactions for soliciting business;
47. Local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to conduct investigations and enforce the law on prepaid installment transaction business;
48. Aquatic organism disease control officers under Article 7 (1) of the Aquatic Life Disease Control Act and aquatic organism quarantine officers under Article 22 (1) of the same Act;
49. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Financial Service Commission, performing the duty to conduct investigations and enforce the law against unfair transactions in capital markets and other duties;
50. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission or any of its affiliates, performing the duty to conduct investigations and enforce the law for nuclear safety management;
51. National public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Employment and Labor or any of its affiliated agencies, performing the duty to enforce the law against fraudulent receipt of unemployment benefits, child-care leave benefits, maternity leave benefits, etc. under the Employment Insurance Act or fraudulent receipt of training fees, training allowances, etc. under the Act on the Development of Vocational Skills of Workers;
52. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport or any of its affiliated agencies, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to conduct emergency safety inspections under Article 13 of the Special Act on the Safety Control and Maintenance of Establishments;
53. National public officials or local public officials of Grade IV through IX who work for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport or any of its affiliated agencies, the Special Metropolitan City, a Metropolitan City or Do, or a Si/Gun/Gu, performing the duty to conduct investigations and enforce the law against illegal activities conducted in connection with real estate.

 Article 6 (Scope of Duties and Investigative Jurisdiction)
The scope of duties and investigative jurisdiction of persons who are to perform the duties of judicial police officers under Articles 4 and 5 shall be limited to the crimes as prescribed in the following subparagraphs: <Amended on Dec. 31, 2008; Apr. 22, 2009; Jun. 9, 2009; Jan. 1, 2010; Feb. 4, 2010; May 4, 2010; Apr. 28, 2011; May 19, 2011> May 30, 2011, Jul. 21, 2011; Jul. 28, 2011; Aug. 4, 2011; Sep. 15, 2011; Jan. 17, 2012; Feb. 1, 2012; Jun. 1, 2012;Jun. 4, 2013; Jul. 30, 2014; Dec. 30, 2014; Feb. 3, 2015; Aug. 11, 2015; Dec. 22, 2015; Jan. 6, 2016; May 29, 2016; Dec. 20, 2016; Jan. 17, 2017; Dec. 19, 2017; Dec. 18, 2018; Apr. 2, 2019; Aug. 27, 2019; Jan. 29, 2020; Dec. 8, 2020>
1. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 1 of Article 5, offenses committed in the relevant correctional institutions, juvenile correctional institutions, detention centers or branches thereof;
2. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 2 of Article 5, offenses committed in the correctional facilities managed by the relevant local correctional agency;
3. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 3 of Article 5, offenses committed in the juvenile reformatories or branches thereof or in the Juvenile Classification Review Center or branches thereof, or arrest where an inmate or temporarily entrusted person has escaped: Provided, That investigation into escape shall be limited to 72 hours from such escape;
4. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 4 of Article 5, offenses committed in the relevant custody facilities or branches thereof;
4-2. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 4-2 of Article 5, offenses prescribed in Article 38 or 39 of the Act on the Electronic Monitoring, which are committed by electronic device wearers within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
5. In cases of persons prescribed in Article 4 and subparagraphs 5 through 7 and 13 of Article 5, offenses under the following classifications:
(a) Persons performing the duties of protecting and managing forests: offences committed in relation to forest managed by the agencies with which such persons are affiliated, and forest products and hunting thereof;
(b) Persons performing the duties of controlling standards and quality of timber products: offences prescribed by the Act on the Sustainable Use of Timbers, which are committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
6. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 8 of Article 5, offenses prescribed by the Food Sanitation Act, the Special Act on Imported Food Safety Control, or the Health Functional Foods Act and food sanitation offenses prescribed by the Act on Special Measures for the Control of Public Health Crimes, which are committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
7. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 9 of Article 5, offenses prescribed by the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, the Cosmetics Act, the Medical Devices Act, or the Act on Testing and Inspection in the Food and Drug Industry and pharmaceutical affairs-related offenses prescribed under the Act on Special Measures for the Control of Public Health Crimes, which are committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
8. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 10 of Article 5, offenses committed in the lighthouse where he or she works;
9. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 11 of Article 5, offenses committed in the railroad facilities and trains within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated, which are prescribed by the Railroad Safety Act, and offenses committed in the station yard and trains under the jurisdiction of such agencies;
10. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 12 of Article 5, offenses committed in the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated, which are prescribed by the Framework Act on Firefighting Services, the Installation, Maintenance, and Safety Control of Firefighting Systems Act, the Firefighting System Installation Business Act, the Act on the Safety Control of Hazardous Substances, Special Act on the Safety Control of Publicly Used Establishments, the Act on 119 Rescue and Emergency Medical Services, and the Special Act on Management of Disasters in Super High-Rise Buildings and Complex Buildings With Underground Connections;
11. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 14 of Article 5, offenses prescribed by the Cultural Heritage Protection Act and the Act on Protection and Inspection of Buried Cultural Heritage, which are committed within the jurisdiction of the agency with which such persons are affiliated, and offenses prescribed by the Punishment of Minor Offenses Act, which are committed in the district of national cultural heritage designated as prescribed by the Cultural Heritage Protection Act or its protection district, in the district of Si/Do designated cultural heritage, the management office or protection district of which is established;
12. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 15 of Article 5, offenses prescribed by the Measures Act, which are committed in the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
13. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 16 of Article 5, flagrant offenders of the Natural Parks Act or the Punishment of Minor Offenses Act committed within the park area with which such persons are affiliated;
14. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 17 of Article 5, the following violations:
(a) Violations of the Customs Act; violations of the Licensed Customs Broker Act; violations of the Act on Special Cases concerning the Refund of Customs Duties, etc. Levied on Raw Materials for Export; violations of the Act on Special Cases of the Customs Act for the Implementation of Free Trade Agreements; violations of the Act on Designation and Management of Free Trade Zones; violations of the Special Act on Civil Affairs concerning the Implementation of the Agreement under Article IV of the Mutual Defense Treaty between the Republic of Korea and the United States of America, regarding Facilities and Areas and the Status of United States Armed Forces in the Republic of Korea; violations of the Foreign Trade Act; violations of Article 4 (1) 2 of the Act on the Investigation of Unfair International Trade Practices and Remedy against Injury to Industry; violations of intellectual property rights relating to the customs clearance and transshipment of imports and exports; violations related to the importation and exportation of the payment means or securities specified by the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act; violations related to the importation and exportation under the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act; violations of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act in service transactions and capital transactions where payments or receipts are made by the method prescribed in subparagraph 3 or 4 of Article 16 of the same Act for exportation or importation or for the purpose of an alternative remittance system; violations of Article 8 (3) of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act; and violations of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act in which a person who has made any of the foreign exchange transactions specified in Article 8 (3) 1 of said Act, the other party to such transaction and other interested persons are involved, which are committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
(b) Capital flight prescribed under Article 4 of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes over offenses prescribed in item (a) committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
(c) Violations of the Act on the Regulation and Punishment of Criminal Proceeds Concealment over offenses prescribed in items (a) and (b) committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
(d) Narcotic or psychotropic drug offenses and cannabis offenses committed at the airports, ports and bonded areas where aircraft or vessels traveling between Korea and foreign countries arrive and depart in the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
(e) Crimes concerning documents under PART II Chapter XX of the Criminal Act and crimes concerning seals under Chapter XXI of the same PART which amount to concurrent crimes prescribed in item (a) committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
(f) Violations of the Act on Origin Labeling of Agricultural and Fishery Products related to exports, imports, and goods processed with exports or imports (goods required to have a country of origin marking under Article 33 of the Foreign Trade Act) and violations of any provision of Articles 4 through 7, 8 through 10, and 12-2 of the Food Sanitation Act regarding imports; Articles 17-2 and 23 through 25 of the Health Functional Foods Act; Article 20 of the Special Act on Imported Food Safety Control; Articles 42, 43, 56 through 58, 61 (limited to the requirements specified in Articles 56 through 58 of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act), 62 through 65, 65-2, 65-3, and 66 of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act; Articles 7, 9, 10, 15, and 16 (1) 1 of the Cosmetics Act; and Articles 20 through 23 and 26 of the Medical Devices Act, which are committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
15. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 18 of Article 5, violations of the Fisheries Act, the Fishery Resources Protection Act, the Fishery Resources Management Act, the Fishing Vessels Act, or the Inland Water Fisheries Act, which are committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
16. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 19 of Article 5, violations of the Mining Safety Act, committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
17. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 20 of Article 5, offenses committed in the facilities prescribed in Articles 42, 63 and 64 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment and Support of Persons of Distinguished Services to the State under the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;
18. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 21 of Article 5, the following violations committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated:
(a) In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 21 (a) of Article 5, violations of the Public Health Control Act;
(b) In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 21 (b) of Article 5, violations of the Medical Service Act;
(c) In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 21 (c) of Article 5, violations of any provision of Articles 84 through 87 of the Act on the Improvement of Mental Health and the Support for Welfare Services for Mental Patients and violations to which Article 88 of the same Act shall apply, among the violations of any of the aforesaid Articles;
(d) In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 21 (d) of Article 5, violations of Article 53 or 54 of the Social Welfare Services Act and violations to which Article 56 of the same Act shall apply, among the violations of either of the aforesaid Articles;
18-2. In cases of persons prescribed in subparagraph 21-2 of Article 5, violations of any provision of Article 39 (1) 1 through 4 and (2) of the Quarantine Act and violations to which Article 40 of the same Act shall apply, among the violations of any of the aforesaid Articles; and violations of any provision of Articles 77, 79, 79-2, 80, and 81 of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act and violations to which Article 82 of the same Act shall apply, among the violations of any of the aforesaid Articles, which are committed within the jurisdiction of the agencies with which such persons are affiliated;

 Article 6-2 (Labor Inspectors)
(1) Labor inspectors appointed under the Labor Standards Act shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to offenses prescribed by the following Acts committed within their jurisdiction: <Amended on May 4, 2010; Jun. 8, 2010; Apr. 30, 2019>
8. Act on the Establishment, Operation, etc. of Teachers' Unions;
9. Act on the Promotion of Workers' Participation and Cooperation;
12. Act on the Protection of Temporary Agency Workers;
13. Act on the Guarantee of Workers' Retirement Benefits;
14. Act on the Establishment and Operation of Public Officials' Labor Unions;
15. Act on the Protection of Fixed-Term and Part-Time Workers;
(2) Persons designated by the chief prosecutor of the district prosecutors’ office having jurisdiction over the posts of such persons, on the recommendation of the heads of agencies with which such persons are affiliated, from among national public officials of Grade VIII and IX who work for local employment and labor offices and local employment and labor branch offices and substations thereof and perform the duties of labor supervision, labor management cooperation, industrial safety, protection of working women, etc. shall perform the duties of junior judicial police officers regardin crimes under paragraph (1). <Amended on Jun. 4, 2010>
(3) Seafarers’ labor supervisors appointed under the Seafarers Act shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to offenses prescribed in the Seafarers Act or Labor Standard Act committed by ship owners and seafarers within their jurisdiction.

 Article 7 (Captains and Seamen)
(1) Captains shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to offenses committed on a seagoing ship (that which is of a gross tonnage of 20 or more tons or of 36 or more cubic meters of loadage and has a coastline route or farther as its navigation area), and a person designated by the captain from among purser or seamen of deck, engine and clerical department shall perform the duties of junior judicial police officers.
(2) Airline pilots and flight attendants shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers and junior judicial police officers in relation to offenses committed on an airplane by applying paragraph (1) mutatis mutandis.

 Article 7-2 (Executive Officers and Employees of the Korea National Park Service)
Among executive officers or employees working for the Korea National Park Service or branch offices thereof and designated by the chief prosecutor of the district prosecutors’ office having jurisdiction over the their post on the recommendation of the chairperson of Korea National Park Service, the executive officers of the Korea National Park Service and the heads of branch offices thereof shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to flagrant offenders of subparagraphs 11, 12, 15, 17, 19 through 21, 23 through 25, 27 through 29, 32, 36 and 37 of Article 3 (1) of the Punishment of Minor Offenses Act, among offenses prescribed in Article 6 (1) of the same Act, committed in park areas, and employees shall perform the duties of junior judicial police officers in relation to such offenses. <Amended on Dec. 31, 2008; Mar. 21, 2012; Oct. 16, 2018>

 Article 7-3 (Staff Members of Financial Supervisory Service)
(1) Staff members of the Financial Supervisory Service or branches or local offices thereof, appointed by the chief prosecutor of the district prosecutors’ office having jurisdiction over their office, upon the recommendation of the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, shall perform the duties of senior judicial police officers in relation to offenses prescribed in the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act if they fall under the following subparagraphs, and the other such employees not falling under the following subparagraphs shall perform the duties of junior judicial police officers in relation to such offenses:
1. Staff members of Grade IV or higher;

(2) The duties of judicial police officers performed by a labor inspector, seamen's labor inspector or mining labor inspector pursuant to the Labor Standards Act, the Seafarers Act or Mining Safety Act before this Act enters into force shall be deemed to have been performed pursuant to this Act.
Article 4 (Transitional Measures following Amendment to the Court-Martial Act)
